Interim Salary Survey of Elected Officials 2010 Salary Schedule Between the comprehensive Salary and Benefits Survey published every other year by the Illinois Association of County Board Members and Commissioners (IACBMC), interim surveys are conducted to update information on changes in salaries and benefits for county officials and county employees. The response rate for the survey was forty-three (43) counties. All compensation data reported is reflective of completed surveys only – twenty-five (25) counties.
In accordance with Illinois statute, the salaries of the county board members and county-wide elected officials must be approved by the county board at least 180 days prior to the beginning of their term of office. County government budgets in Illinois remain historically low. The salary schedules for 2010 show a modest increase, if any, which reinforces that county governments are following principles of responsible fiscal management.
